It turned out that this was due to a timing issue in the audio handoff. Then I noticed that a timing delay gradually built up in WSJT-X which caused decodes to fail after a few minutes.

It took a few days of tinkering just to get Gqrx running. Getting Gqrx and WSJT-X working on the Raspberry Pi wasn't a walk in the park.

Has anyone had luck with these small PCs? Any recommendations? Any minimal requirements to keep in mind? Things to avoid? Thanks. Besides SDR Console I'd be interested in running at least one and perhaps multiple digital decoders simultaneously (WSJT-X etc). They offer a variety of sizes of RAM and storage, often with open bays for SSD's.

The models I've browsed on Amazon typically have Intel Celeron CPU's (Apollo Lake, Sandy Bridge) and come loaded with Windows 10 Pro. I'm interested in running SDR Console on one of the current crop of mini desktop PCs, which are low-cost and fit within a minimal footprint.

Myself, were I to want a small footprint PC I would go mini-itx, Intel i5 0400f (F = no graphics) and add a small GPU.įrom: On Behalf Of Frank Sent: 16 February 2020 21:31 To: Subject: SDR Console on mini desktop PC? Intel NUCs can be very good, the i5 with a good HD works well. See – works but not as good as a PC with some decent graphics. Thus my interest in finding a physically small Windows 10 box.įrom: On Behalf Of Simon Brown via Groups.Io Sent: 17 February 2020 07:19 To: Subject: Re: SDR Console on mini desktop PC? This has also worked fine, but I'd like to add the SlowJT9 and JS8Call decoders, which are Windows-only.
#Airspy planeplotter software
At times I've monitored JT9 and WSPR on 630m with a Raspberry Pi, using Gqrx as the SDR software and instances of WSJT-X as decoders. This works fine, but it would be nice to free up the Windows box for other purposes - and a computer with a small footprint would be a big plus. What prompted my immediate question is that I've been operating recently on the 630m ham band, and as a monitor have been running SDR Console (with any of several SDRs) on a Windows 10 desktop with four decoders to receive JT9, JT9-2 ("slow" JT9), WSPR and JS8. I'd have to look at them more closely and figure out what I might do with them. It looks as though they have some amount of overlap with other packages such as Fldigi. I've heard of MultiPSK but have never used it, while Sorcerer is completely new to me. From: "Frank" To: Cc: Sent: Sunday Febru8:44:03PM Subject: Re: SDR Console on mini desktop PC? Hi Barry, thanks for the suggestions. Thus my interest in finding a physically small Windows 10 box.
